In 2023, Mater Christi College will celebrate 60 years of providing excellence in all-girls’ education.
We are uniquely situated in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, easily accessible by public transport, charter bus or car, and draw our students from a range of suburbs in the east, outer-east and
south-eastern suburbs.
We belong to a group of ten schools on the east coast of Australia known as Good Samaritan Education, and it is this strong tradition of honouring the voice and experience of women which drives our contemporary approach to girls’ education.
Faith, Learning, Wellbeing and Enrichment are the pillars on which our school sits, and we work hard to ensure that each student has an opportunity to find her place. We are intentionally middle-sized so that each girl is known; we provide a contemporary curriculum, a broad range of enrichment opportunities, as well as a safe place to learn and grow.
Mater Christi’s motto consists of three words – Informed, Compassionate, Creative. These words capture the dreams for each and every young person who walks through the school’s doors.
Mater Christi has a proactive approach to wellbeing by including social-emotional learning as part of the learning program. Their curriculum is based on the Middle Years Program of the International Baccalaureate, an internationally recognised framework which caters for a range of learning needs, offering support and challenge where required. The VCE program is rich and students’ results are a testament to the professionalism and expertise of their teachers.
