About our school

Located just 3km from Sydney’s CBD, St Scholastica’s College, affectionally known as Schols, has a rich history of empowering young women to succeed in every area of life. For almost 150 years, we’ve remained at the forefront of providing a holistic education where faith and knowledge are intertwined. Inspired in the Benedictine and the Good Samaritan charism and values, we strive to create a school community that feels like family—a place where every girl is seen, heard and valued.

At Schols, excellence is not just for the gifted or talented, it is for every student. We are a down-to-earth community that fosters curiosity and ambition, whether that passion lies in the arts, music, sport or academic achievement. Our students excel across a broad range of areas including being world champion Dragon Boaters and national sporting champions.

We also partner with leading universities including the University of Sydney, the University of Technology and the University of NSW, offering exciting opportunities for students to explore STEM subjects and discover a wealth of diverse career paths. Our close ties with these institutions ensure our students are exposed to the latest advancements and developments in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Boarding students are at the heart of our community. They contribute to the vibrancy and inclusivity that defines our College, creating lasting friendships and experiences in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Life at Schols is filled with opportunity, whether a day student or a boarde, and we are proud to provide a nurturing environment where every girl can grow, learn and make her mark.

Principal's Message

At St Scholastica’s College, we’ve been inspiring young women for nearly 150 years and we remain as committed as ever to empowering every girl who walks through our doors. Through the timeless lens of the Good Samaritan, we cultivate an environment where compassion, faith, and care for others are at the core of all we do. Our mission is simple: to nurture every student’s academic, personal and spiritual growth, helping them discover their fullest potential.

In our classrooms, students don’t just learn, they thrive. We pride ourselves on offering a well-rounded education that balances intellect, creativity and character. From the first day students arrive at the College they are encouraged to challenge themselves, think critically and engage in all aspects of school life. We believe in the importance of relationships – between teachers and students and between peers.  It is this warmth and connection that makes our school feel like a home.
