Padua College – Our Past, Our Present, Our Future

In 1956, the Franciscan Friars responded to a request from the Franciscan Sisters to relieve the pressure on their Parish School by opening a school to educate boys.

Padua College opened with an enrolment of 89 Year 4 boys. Inspired by the teachings of St Francis, our Franciscan values have not changed for almost seventy years, but the world of today has many more opportunities for our young people. Padua College offers a holistic education that goes beyond the classroom and shapes young men to be the Good Men of Padua. We partner with parents to provide an environment where students are supported to make good choices.

In partnership with Mount Alvernia College, our Master Plan for the Future includes a plan to redevelop five hectares of land opposite the school, which will become a shared precinct between the two Colleges, enhancing our learning community.

The College’s own Master Plan draws on our Franciscan story to deliver innovative learning and gathering spaces into the future. Beginning in 2024, the first stage of this Master Plan will see an extension to our hall along with additional learning spaces.
