OLMC Parramatta – Our Past, Our Present, Our Future
Inspired by an Irish spirit of adventure, nine sisters of Mercy left Callan Ireland in 1888 for Parramatta. They were passionate about nurturing the Catholic faith and were committed to the education of young women.
OLMC was established in 1889. For 115 years, the leadership of OLMC was in the hands of seven successive Sisters of Mercy. This enabled the development of the strong Mercy heritage, traditions and values that remain such a vibrant part of the College mission and community today.
Mercy Girls are equipped to be critical, creative and reflective thinkers. They aim to make a positive difference in the world, following in the footsteps of the many Mercy women who have gone before them.
OLMC not only encourages students to flourish academically, but also socially, emotionally and creatively.
We are committed to empowering our students to develop the skills they need to confidently step beyond the Mercy Gates and succeed in their future endeavours.
