John Paul College – Our Past, Our Present, Our Future
John Paul College was formed in 1979 by the merging of two Colleges, Stella Maris College (girls) and Marianist College (boys). The founding orders, the Faithful Companions of Jesus (Stella Maris) and The Society of Mary (Marianists), built a community of Faith and left a legacy of spirituality, academic excellence and social justice that continues to inspire us. Today, John Paul College is a leader in education with a strong focus on student Wellbeing and Faith. We honour the traditions of our founding orders through our vision, mission and values, house charisms and activities, and social justice initiatives.
Since its inception, the College has undergone significant expansion to its facilities, ensuring our 14-hectare grounds and buildings meet the demands of growing enrolments and advancing curriculum. The College has developed a Masterplan for further expansion over the next 10 years.
Stage 1 was recently completed, with the new Food Technology Building and the construction of a new state-of-the-art, doublestorey learning building, the Chaminade Centre, named after Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, who formed the Society of Mary. The College Strategic Plan, Learning and Teaching Vision, Wellbeing Vision and facilities Masterplan are our blueprints for success for the future.
