It’s not lack of confidence that’s holding back women in STEM

The focus on increasing women’s involvement in STEM has seen greater numbers in teaching and as students in classes, however, as this Conversation article shows, there’s still work to be done.

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professions are still heavily male-dominated. Across all sectors, just over one in four STEM workers are women.

The gender gap is even wider among students in post-secondary STEM courses.
