The Ignatian ethos and spirituality of the Jesuits underpins all that transpires at Xavier, adding a depth and richness to the experiences and learning that students enjoy. Students are encouraged to
reflect, to explore, to come to know their passions and strengths, and to pursue their own personal
human excellence, so they might become the best version of themselves in the service of others.
Whether in the classroom, in the community, on the stage or on the sporting field, Xavier students have access to outstanding opportunities and facilities, allowing talents to be nurtured, fun to be had and strong friendships forged. Jesuit education values relationship and ‘cura personalis’ (care for the whole person) is central to a Xavier education. Xavier students are supported by pastoral staff that accompany students on their journey through the school, celebrating successes, cultivating talents and always encouraging the pursuit of what else might be possible.
We encourage our students to think critically, and wherever we can, giving students agency over their own learning. We provide a dynamic curriculum with a number of subject options. Students’ spirituality and faith is nurtured through retreats, liturgical celebrations and Ignatian Service programs and is expressed through the palpable sense of connection and community that exists between students. Xavier is part of a global network of Jesuit schools and universities, and has an extensive and active Old Xaverians association.
