About our school
Xavier College is a Catholic school founded in 1878 by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). We belong to a worldwide network of over 2,000 Jesuit educational institutions.
Our Jesuit identity is reflected in all aspects of the way in which we educate our students.
To support our students on their journey, we regard ‘Cura Personalis’, the care of the individual, as fundamental. We consider the individual needs of every student in our care, and strive to support them in every way we can throughout their intellectual, spiritual, moral, physical, social and emotional formation.
Acting on the Jesuit ideal of becoming ‘Men and Women for Others’, service is central to our curriculum. We encourage our students to act in faith, for justice, and with dignity, humility and respect.
These values shape the lives of our students today and prepare them to be compassionate leaders of tomorrow.
Principal's Message
At Xavier, it is our intent to commit ourselves with passion and purpose. This is centred in our exceptional development of our students. Our passion is fuelled by our understanding that the experiences and opportunities we provide serve to thoughtfully challenge and nourish each person and unlock their unique gifts and potential. We deliver an incredibly broad range of learning experiences that are inspiring. We do not expect that our students will leave Xavier with all the answers, but that they will know the questions to ask. In this way, our hope is that they have the courage to pursue
