About our school
St Thomas’ is a primary school catering for students from Prep to Year Six. The school is situated in an attractive, open, semi-rural environment. Each wing of the school has modern facilities with classrooms opening into shared work areas. Wet areas and cooking facilities are accessible for each classroom. Each wing also has internal student hygiene facilities.
There are attractive garden areas and students are encouraged to maintain and become involved in this natural environment. There is a large oval, basketball court, an adventure playground, multi-purpose hall/gymnasium and shaded seating areas.
The school curriculum is progressive and inclusive of all students. The organisation of the school is based on the philosophy of developmental learning. Class structures allow students to progress at an individual rate. A broad curriculum is offered which covers the nine Key Learning Areas – Religious Education, English, Science, Mathematics, Humanities, Technology, LOTE, Health and PE and The Arts. An integrated inquiry approach is used in designing classroom teaching programs which enhance learning and allow children to explore the world around them.
Special programs include: Bush School, Swimming, Perceptual Motor, Pastoral Care, Instrumental Music Lessons, Speech Pathology, Dance, Camps, Interschool Sport, Maths Olympiad, Gymnastics, Physical Education and Sacramental Program. The school also provides an Out of School Hours care.
