About our school

St Paul’s is a multicultural school set in Melbourne’s western suburbs. The student population is approximately 515. The school community is made up of families from a rich variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. St Paul’s also welcomes families from other faith backgrounds and traditions. Sacramental and other liturgical celebrations are planned in collaboration with the Parish team. Prayer, liturgy, scripture, song and celebration are key elements of the Religious Education program.

St Paul’s community is committed to structures and procedures that make explicit its role of forming students to become creative, positive contributors to society. St Paul’s offers educational processes that foster independence and responsibility.

At St Paul’s we believe that for children to succeed, there must be sound partnerships between home and school – both are seen as providing a vital and supportive environment for children. Parents/carers are always welcome and encouraged to actively participate in their children‘s schooling in a variety of ways, including working in classrooms and attending excursions. Communication to  families takes place through newsletters (hard copy and online), Audiri, our school app, our class assemblies and staff–family forums.  These are all planned with the specific purpose of giving and receiving information. We also use Seesaw which is an online learning experience platform for P-6 students which  connects teachers, students, and families through digital portfolios and learning that is taking place in the classroom.  St Paul’s has a School Advisory Council which meets each term to discuss a variety of matters, including child safety at St Paul’s.

St. Paul’s Primary School is committed to providing a safe environment for all children and young people and will take active steps to protect them against abuse. To achieve this the school has developed and actively enforces Child Safety Strategies to ensure that any person involved in ‘child connected work’ is aware of their obligations and responsibilities for ensuring the safety of all children under their care.

At St. Paul’s Primary School, we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. Our commitment is drawn from and inherent in the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice and the sanctity of each human person at the heart of the gospel (VCEA Commitment Statement to Child Safety).

At St Paul’s we value the uniqueness of each person. Respect, acceptance, care for the most vulnerable and the right of each student to contribute to the life of the school are emphasised. We place high value on teaching, celebrating and modelling the Catholic faith and tradition.

Principal's Message

As a community, we celebrate the traditions of the Catholic Church and live the Gospel Values. We value the gifts that each student brings and respect the uniqueness of each individual. We strive for educational excellence for all students – we want them to be the best that they can be. Staff design contemporary programs that engage our learners, students and staff, through a variety of learning strategies, allowing all to achieve.

We provide an extensive curriculum which ensures our students achieve spiritually, academically, emotionally and physically in all facets of life. Together with the family/school partnership we seek to nurture the students to become happy, friendly and caring members of the community.

We know that parents are the primary educators of children and we share in a partnership to help children reach their full potential. We want parents to feel welcome at the school, both their presence and their contributions. We value the partnership which exists between parish, school, parents and wider community and its integral role in realising our Vision – St. Paul’s Primary School – a welcoming and supportive community where we value and celebrate learning, diversity and our Catholic heritage.

St Paul’s School – a welcoming and diverse Catholic community:
