About our school

St Paul’s Primary School is a Catholic community school in Monbulk’s Dandenong Ranges foothills, serving students from twelve neighbouring towns since 1984.

Distinguished by our commitment to student wellbeing and student voice through community partnership, we nurture each child’s holistic development while empowering students through our Student Representative Council (SRC) to lead projects, fundraising, and school improvements, including partnerships with the Monbulk Care Network.

Our holistic education approach prioritises student wellbeing by integrating spiritual, academic, physical, social and emotional development using evidence-based teaching strategies grounded in cognitive science. We employ explicit instruction in literacy and mathematics through the gradual release model, supported by quality learning spaces including hall, library, art room and large classrooms that foster both academic growth and emotional security.

Comprehensive wellbeing support comes from dedicated Student Welfare Workers and Learning Support Officers who ensure every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Our genuine community spirit involves collaborative partnerships between parents, church, school and students that prioritise student voice and wellbeing in decisions.

We are more than a school – we’re a diverse, welcoming community where every child’s wellbeing matters and where they develop as confident, resilient lifelong learners through strong home-school-community partnerships grounded in faith.

Principal's Message

At St Paul’s, we believe close collaboration creates more fruitful opportunities for every child. Our strength lies in genuine school-home partnerships between families, staff and our broader community.

When parents join family workshop nights, volunteer at working bees, hot lunch days or special events, they strengthen this vital partnership. Our active Parents and Friends Association exemplifies this collaborative spirit, creating connection and celebration opportunities.

Strong school-home partnerships ensure consistent support where learning continues seamlessly between classroom and home. When families and educators unite with shared goals, children flourish through authentic relationships that transform our school into a true community.
