Here are St Mary’s Catholic School, we challenge each child to flourish and to reach their God-given potential.
Our school is located in the beautiful beachside community of Bowen in North Queensland, and is the only Catholic primary school in our town. We are a warm and welcoming school community where we believe all students have the right to grow to their full potential in a safe and caring environment.
All staff at St Mary’s Catholic School are highly dedicated, enthusiastic, experienced and committed to the spiritual, emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of the learners. We help our students to feel confident in their abilities.
We offer a range of opportunities including student leadership, swimming programs, specialist subjects in PE, The Arts and Technology. Our school has a strong community presence through our Community Outreach program. The Gospel values of compassion, justice and outreach underpin all that we do.
We value, support and nurture partnerships with parents/guardians in the everyday education of their children. We hold strong beliefs that these partnerships should be founded on mutual respect, cooperation, communication and involvement. It is an enormous privilege to work with parents/ guardians as the primary educators in our Catholic school context.
We are a Prep to Year 6 school, however we also value and support early learning through our birth to five “St Mary’s Mums and Munchkins Program”.
