About our school
St Jude’s Primary School is located at 30 Warrandyte Road, Langwarrin. We provide a well-rounded education where spiritual, social and emotional, and academic learning are grounded in Christian values.
Our school motto is Mercy, Peace, Love. In child-friendly language, we bring this to life as “use your kind heart” — showing care for others, being gentle and fair, and making positive choices each day.
Alongside our motto, we have three school-wide expectations that are closely linked to our Christian values. These apply to every member of our school community:
At St Jude’s, everyone has the right to be treated with respect.
At St Jude’s, everyone has the right to feel safe.
At St Jude’s, everyone has the right to learn.
Our magnificent grounds provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. As a five-star sustainable school, we are committed to teaching our students to be stewards of the land and responsible citizens of the world we share.
At St Jude’s, we place a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching and learning. Our approach includes explicit teaching practices, where learning intentions and success criteria are clear and teachers provide structured, step-by-step instruction to support all learners. In Literacy, we have a strong focus on the teaching of phonics, ensuring students develop the essential skills in decoding, fluency and comprehension. This is supported by evidence-based practices across all areas of learning, with a particular focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics.
Principal's Message
I feel privileged to lead the St Jude’s school community. Our dedicated staff work with enthusiasm and care to engage every child in their learning journey, ensuring each student is known, valued and supported.
At St Jude’s, we recognise parents and carers as the first educators of their children. Building strong partnerships with families and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment is central to who we are as a school.
As a smaller school, we pride ourselves on truly knowing every student — not just by name, but as the individual they are. This strong sense of connection allows us to nurture each child’s unique strengths and support their growth.
At St Jude’s, we are committed to developing the whole child. We equip students with the lifelong skills they need to become the best version of themselves. Student wellbeing is a priority; every child is treated with positive unconditional regard and taught at their point of need through high-quality, explicit teaching practices.
St Jude’s is a joyful place to learn, work and play. If you are considering St Jude’s for your family, I warmly invite you to contact the school office to arrange a tour and experience firsthand what makes our school such a welcoming and connected community.
