About our school

St Joseph’s School is situated on the Mornington Peninsula and belongs to the Parish of Western Port. Enrolments are drawn from Crib Point, Bittern, Somers, Balnarring, Shoreham, Point Leo and the HMAS Cerberus community. St Joseph’s is the closest school to HMAS Cerberus Naval Base and approximately 30–40 % of our enrolment comes from Defence Force families.

The school is set on 2.5 hectares of prime land. The spacious grounds include a sports oval, outdoor learning areas, extensive adventure playgrounds and many shaded areas in a beautiful bush setting. Our school is adjacent to the Crib Point swimming pool, tennis courts and football oval and we are fortunate to have ready access to these facilities.

Principal's Message

A very warm welcome to St Joseph’s. As Principal, I am immensely proud to lead a school community where our Christian ethos is at the heart of everything we do—lived daily through our kindness, our service, and our connection to one another.

At St Joseph’s, we believe that a child who feels safe, known, and valued is a child who is ready to learn. Our commitment to educating the whole child means we place equal value on academic excellence and social-emotional wellbeing. Whether our students are mastering literacy or numeracy in our modern classrooms, harvesting produce from our kitchen garden, or serving the community through our student-run cafe, they are developing the resilience and real-world skills they need to thrive.

We are particularly proud of our deep connection to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Through our signature ‘Sea is Our Best Friend’ program, our students step out of the classroom and onto the beach, working alongside experts to become scientists and stewards of our local environment.

From our Prep students and their Year 6 buddies to our graduating seniors, every child at St Joseph’s is encouraged to find their voice and lead with heart.

I invite you to join our vibrant community and discover what makes our school such a special place to grow and learn.

Gab Espenschied – Principal
