About our school
Wonderful things happen here.
When a child feels truly welcomed, supported, and valued, they develop a strong sense of belonging — and from this foundation, wonderful things grow. Our students flourish as creative, confident, and capable lifelong learners. They embrace new opportunities, uncover their passions, and gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Principal's Message
I warmly welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic School, Mount Isa.
It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself as the Principal of this exceptional school. I feel truly privileged to lead and serve such a welcoming, vibrant, and well-established community. Together with our dedicated staff, students, and families, we work to continue the tradition of excellence that has been built here over many years.
At St Joseph’s, we are committed to providing a rich and well-rounded educational experience for every student. Our approach to learning focuses not only on academic success but also on nurturing the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of each child. I strongly believe that every student is unique, with their own talents and gifts, and it is our job to affirm and encourage these qualities in an environment of care, respect, and trust.
One of the things I love most about St Joseph’s is the incredible diversity within our community. We are proud to be a school that is home to families from many different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. This diversity makes us stronger and enriches the experience of all our students.
The strength of our school community lies in the collaboration and support we offer each other. We work together to create an environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. I am a firm believer that schools thrive when families are engaged, and I encourage all parents and carers to take an active role in the life of our school.
I invite you to explore our website and learn more about the wonderful things happening here at St Joseph’s. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, or to arrange a visit—whether you’re new to the school or a long-standing member of our community, we would love for you to be involved.
