Principal's Message

Welcome to our school website, where you can explore what a St Joseph’s education can offer your child.
Our students are distinctive in their love for learning. At St Joseph’s we offer a diverse curriculum in modern, well-equipped facilities and our professional staff deliver high quality classroom practice to best meet the needs of individual students.
Respect and good manners are cornerstones of St Joseph’s students, and we have high expectations of all students in their relationships with one another and our teaching and non-teaching staff. With a foundation of respect and kindness, our students are better supported to learn.
St Joseph’s has a rich history and continues to be an important part of the life of the local community. Our school was the last school St Mary MacKillop founded before she passed away. The Sisters who were nursing her during her ill health were released to begin the Parish and School in Cloncurry, arriving in October 1909. Our school community is still very much guided by the value of service to others passed down from St Mary MacKillop and the Josephite Sisters as we endeavour to “never see a need without doing something about it”. We still have our very own Josephite Sister at St Joseph’s, Lyn Freestone.
I invite you to contact the school to arrange a school tour and for all enrolment enquiries. We look forward to being partners in your child’s education.
