About our school
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Werribee charms not by being ordinary, but by weaving heart, faith and innovation into every corner of its community. Founded amidst the pandemic in January 2021, it has grown from 127 to nearly 300 students by 2023—expanding thoughtfully with state‑of‑the‑art learning spaces like the Nyoora and Mokborri buildings.
Rooted in Gospel inspiration and Mary MacKillop’s spirit—“may the spirit of unity and love reign among us”—its mission is more than words; it’s lived daily through respect, kindness, responsibility and courage. The vibrant Parents in Partnership program further amplifies this living mission: families actively help lead masses, social justice, gardening, grant‑writing, arts and hospitality initiatives—making it a genuine hub of collaboration, not just spectatorship.
The school’s dedication to nurturing the whole child is equally distinctive. As a Professional Learning Community, teachers harness data and evidence to tailor interventions—and the Positive Behaviour for Learning framework ensures that respect and care are consistently modelled across classroom and playground.
In blending innovative learning spaces, heartfelt faith expression, family partnership, and a relentless focus on each child’s dignity, St Joseph’s stands proudly apart—not just educating, but inspiring community.

Inspired by the gentle strength of St Joseph and the determined compassion of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, we place love, respect and care at the heart of everything we do.
Our vibrant and growing school is more than a place of learning — it’s a place of welcome, belonging and shared purpose.
