St Francis of Assisi Primary School is a faith-filled learning community grounded in the Gospel values of love, hope and peace. Inspired by the prayer of St Francis of Assisi, we uphold the worth and dignity of every person and foster a caring, inclusive culture where students feel safe, valued and supported to flourish.

Our teaching and learning are guided by the Science of Learning, drawing on cognitive science to ensure every child learns effectively. Teachers use evidence-based practices such as explicit instruction, carefully managed cognitive load, daily review and spaced practice to support deep understanding and long-term retention. Structured routines and high levels of active participation ensure all students are engaged, while scaffolding helps learners move confidently from foundational skills to independent, expert thinking.

Through classroom teaching and a comprehensive specialist program, students engage with all Learning Areas and Capabilities of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, ensuring a rich, balanced and future-focused education. St Francis of Assisi Primary School also offers contemporary learning environments, including our recently completed Parish Church renovations and a state-of-the-art Year 5/6 STEAM Building. This facility includes specialist classrooms, studios, collaborative breakout spaces, and access to our school oval and athletics track, supporting innovation, creativity and community connection.

Open Days/School Tours
School tours are conducted every second Tuesday at 9.30am throughout Terms 1 and 2. Bookings are essential. Please contact the School Office on 9407 3100 to arrange a suitable time.
