About our school
St Francis of Assisi Primary School Wodonga was previously known as Frayne College. This name change took place at the end of 2015.
St Francis of Assisi Primary School was founded in 2005. The school started with one schoolhouse, sixty-three students and seven staff. The foundation Co-principals were Ms Christine Telford and Mr Gary Hawkey. St Francis of Assisi Primary School Wodonga grew steadily each year since its inception. In 2023, our enrolment is 460 students. Previous students have gone on to great success at further secondary and tertiary education.
The St Francis of Assisi Primary School grounds have also developed over the years reflecting the hard work and sustainable values of the school community. From pasture land to a thriving natural regeneration project including native trees, shrubs, wetland project and nature trail the natural history is developing successfully alongside the community and infrastructure.
Principal's Message
Welcome to St Francis of Assisi Primary School. It is our strong desire that our motto “Live Justly, Love Tenderly, Walk Humbly with our God” [Micah 6:8] underpins who we are and how we educate our children.
The core purpose of St Francis of Assisi Primary School is to provide a vibrant fulfilled, faith-filled and curious learning environment; a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy and dedicated and skilled staff to support our children on this wondrous learning journey.
We seek to develop motivated, imaginative, curious and independent learners who demonstrate strong social values, leadership, resilience and self-esteem.
St Francis of Assisi Primary School promotes the development of positive relationships; mutual respect; an understanding of individual and communal rights and responsibilities, which promote inclusiveness and acceptance of individual difference. We are inspired daily by the life of St Francis of Assisi and guided by the four pillars of our Education Philosophy:
Our school is a joy filled learning environment. The joy of learning comes from the experience of belonging and success, where each child is at the centre of the learning.
We look forward to welcoming you and your children to our school.
Mrs Jennyne Wilkinson – Principal
