About our school

Our college motto, “To Love, To Serve, To Shine,” is deeply rooted in our Christian values and brought to life through our commitment to inclusivity, service, and personal excellence. Inspired by our Patron Saint, Mary Help of Christians, we strive to walk in her footsteps by nurturing faith, compassion, and strength of character in all we do.
We are dedicated to the holistic development of every student within a vibrant Catholic community that honours the dignity of each person and fosters a genuine sense of belonging. Effort and commitment are valued, and students are both supported and challenged to become the very best version of themselves.
Through a rich and balanced environment, we create opportunities for growth across academic, cultural, sporting, spiritual, and social pursuits. Our passion for education is reflected in the confidence, character, and achievements of our students — young people who truly learn to love, serve, and shine.

Principal's Message

As Principal of Southern Cross Catholic College, I am pleased to welcome you to our dynamic and thriving community. We take pride in celebrating our rich and growing history and are now in an exciting new phase of our journey. Our dedicated and highly skilled staff are intentionally focused on excellence, and this commitment is evident in the exceptional achievements of our students.
While we take great pride in our academic success, we also shine in other areas of our school life, including the arts, sports, and cultural activities, all of which contribute to a well-rounded and vibrant community.
At Southern Cross Catholic College, we believe in the importance of education in a Catholic environment, and we are deeply committed to providing our students with opportunities to develop and grow. The College, under the patronage of Mary Help of Christians, maintains a close connection with St Joseph the Worker Parish in Wulguru and is administered by the Townsville Catholic Education Office.
Our mission is to educate for lifelong success, recognizing that each student is unique and made in the image of God. We are dedicated to fostering the development of the whole person by creating an environment where students can grow in all aspects of life—academically, spiritually, and socially—helping them to become the best version of themselves.
Through a thoughtful balance of academic rigor, sporting excellence, cultural expression, and spiritual formation, we equip our students with the skills and attitudes necessary for success in their future endeavors.
Southern Cross Catholic College is at a pivotal point in its growth, striving to become a leading P-12 institution within the Townsville Diocese. Our experienced and passionate staff work tirelessly to nurture and challenge our students, empowering them to reach their full potential. Here, individuals are valued, standards are high, learning is a lifelong pursuit, transformation is tangible, and faith is central to everything we do. We offer an affordable, accessible, and excellent Catholic education to primary and secondary students who want to be part of a community built on trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.
With both primary and secondary students on one easily accessible campus in Annandale, our students enjoy a smooth transition from Prep to Secondary, benefitting from consistent values and high expectations that shape their entire journey at the College.
On behalf of Southern Cross Catholic College, I thank you for your interest in our school and look forward to being part of your educational journey.
