About our school

Sacred Heart School, established by the Presentation Sisters in 1912, is a thriving Catholic primary school in Sandringham, close to Port Phillip Bay and Sandringham Village. We currently educate around 275 students from Prep to Year 6.
In 2025, we completed a $5.2 million refurbishment, delivering 13 light-filled classrooms, breakout rooms, a purpose-built STEM centre, MSL intervention spaces, an art studio, outdoor play areas, a multipurpose hall, and collaborative meeting rooms.
We offer a rich variety of programs, including Before & After School Care, Calm Club, running club, art and gardening clubs, and optional instrumental music lessons.
Our curriculum, based on the Victorian Curriculum, is underpinned by a strong Structured Literacy approach. We use evidence-based methods such as MSL, Heggerty, Spelling Mastery, and The Writing Revolution, alongside Italian, PE, Visual Arts, Music, and wellbeing programs like the Berry Street Education Model.
Gospel values are central to our mission. Students enjoy interschool sport, leadership opportunities, secondary school transition support, and intergenerational programs with local kinders and aged care.
Since 2022, growing enrolments, high community regard, and upgraded facilities have positioned Sacred Heart as a leading choice for families in the Bayside area.
