About our school
Resurrection Parish was established from the Sacred Heart Parish in St Albans and began its journey under the leadership of Fr Vin Corbett. In 1978, Resurrection Catholic Parish Primary School opened its doors, gaining official registration in February 1979, with Mr John Goonan appointed as the first principal.
Over the years, the school continued to grow and evolve, with additional buildings constructed under the guidance of two subsequent principals. A significant milestone occurred in 2003, with the construction of a modern eight-room junior building and a new play area along the southern boundary. That year also saw the opening of a new Parish Office and a convent for the Vietnamese Sisters. Key refurbishments were carried out in the administration area, student toilet facilities, and resurfacing of both the staff and parent car parks as well as the playground.
Resurrection Parish Catholic Primary School has always embraced the diverse cultural backgrounds of its community. A defining strength of the Resurrection community is its active involvement and a shared commitment to the wellbeing of all. This focus remains central to our mission today, supported by a clear and well-implemented wellbeing framework.
At the heart of all we do is the education and development of our students. The rich diversity among our families continues to inform and shape our inclusive and responsive approach to learning and teaching. As a result, we offer a stimulating and comprehensive P–6 program, meeting the needs of every learner across all areas of the curriculum.
