About our school
Our Lady’s College students are “equipped to pursue a lifelong love of learning, embrace change readily and live with an attentive mind and heart for others.” Our Mission is to provide a high quality affordable Catholic education for young women in a vibrant, caring and engaging environment, that lives our Tradition, strives for Excellence and engages in our Community. Inspired by the legacy of St Mary (of the Cross) MacKillop, lessons learnt at Our Lady’s College last long beyond the classroom. At Our Lady’s, “every girl is well-known” and encouraged to embrace change and live by the College motto and challenge of “Ad Altiora” (Ever Higher). With a focus on careers and pathways for the future, our academic, vocational, and extra-curricular programs are tailored for girls to become self-directed and reflective individuals who contribute positively to a changing world, whilst honouring a proud tradition of educating, inspiring and empowering young women for over 55 years. Learning success is supported by before and after school tutoring, past student academic mentoring and numerous job skills, work placement and community partnership programs. Our Lady’s is conveniently located in Annerley, just 7km south of the CBD. The College is accessible by public transport and a private College bus service with pick-ups and drops-off in Yeronga, Tennyson, Corinda, Darra, Inala and Forest Lake. Enactment of the Master Plan has resulted in the College facilities, equipment and streetscape growing and changing significantly to accommodate a modern resource centre, state of the art science laboratories, theatrette, café and an outside deck overlooking grassy playing fields.
Come visit us in 2022 and see what makes Our Lady’s College the perfect choice for your daughter!
School Captains Message
The small and friendly community of Our Lady’s, fostered by strong, positive relationships among students and staff, is an invaluable asset to the College. This allows us and other students to express our individual personalities and interests in a safe and supportive environment.
A priority of ours in 2022 will be running the SRC (Student Representative Council), thus ensuring that the voices and ideas of students are heard and considered. We are also looking forward to sports, academic, and cultural events and programs; leading the college from behind; and experiencing our bittersweet lasts.
Finding balance between our school, home and work lives can be challenging, but the uniquely small and personal environment of Our Lady’s has helped us, and many others, build resilience to overcome hardships.
