About our school

Early Learning to Year 12 Co-Educational

In the heart of Alice Springs (Mparntwe), Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College (OLSH) is a cherished Catholic community where children from Early Learning to Year 12 are welcomed and guided to grow in God’s grace. Founded in 1938 by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and the Brothers of St Marcellin Champagnat, OLSH carries a legacy of justice, love, and peace across three inspiring campuses: the Bath Street Campus for Early Learning to Year 4, Traeger Campus for Years 5–8, and Sadadeen Campus for Years 9–12. Here, in a diverse, inclusive family of approximately 800 students, every child is considered a unique gift, nurtured to flourish with confidence, kindness, and a deep faith that echoes Our Lady’s gentle call to care for one another.

Faith is the heartbeat of OLSH, woven into every moment through the Crossways Religious Education Curriculum. From simple prayers in Early Learning to sacramental celebrations and liturgical gatherings in senior years, students discover God’s mercy and the Gospel’s call to compassion—building resilient hearts ready to serve with empathy.

Academic progress flourishes under the Australian Curriculum, with a balanced focus on literacy, numeracy, and holistic development tailored to each stage. In Early Learning and primary years, play-based exploration sparks wonder; middle years at Traeger build enquiry and collaboration; and senior pathways at Sadadeen lead to the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET), with SACE Stages 1 and 2 for ATAR or non-ATAR routes, plus VET options for real-world skills. Specialist programs in Performing Arts, Music, Dance & Drama, Photography, Art, Choir, and Sport ignite talents.

Our strong pastoral care and community events—like Harmony Day and Reconciliation Week—celebrate diversity and belonging, ensuring every learner feels supported. It’s where academic excellence meets spiritual warmth, empowering your child to step into the world with purpose.

Principal's Message

Founded in 1938, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College (OLSH) has a long-established commitment to educating generations in Alice Springs (Mparntwe) with Daughters of the Sacred Heart Sisters and Brothers of St Marcellin Champagnat laying the foundations for ongoing Catholic Education. The College has a proud history and a reputation for community involvement and academic achievement in an environment where the pastoral care and well-being of students is paramount. This is what we desire for our College Community and our College Family members.
