About our school
Our school has a caring, progressive staff and offers a dynamic, evolving curriculum, based on academic excellence, gospel values and spiritual awareness.
The OLR school community strives to shape the uniqueness of each child’s individual ‘spirits’ to create a communal spirituality which is characterised by our motto: ‘to pray, to care, to share’.
The children enjoy a wide range of learning activities. We hold weekly lessons with our specialist teachers in the Library (including STEM), Music and Dance, Visual and Media Art, Japanese and Physical Education.
Examples of other activities included in our curriculum are beach safety, surfing, choir & dance, sacramental programs and sport competitions including netball, cross country, swimming and athletics. We also participate in Book Week activities, mini Vinnies, excursions, Tournament of Minds and Wakakirri .
Our school has achieved considerable growth due in part to the positive culture that exists. We have an excellent reputation in our local area and many visitors comment on the caring environment that exists.
Teachers and parents share in a special partnership, which is the complete and holistic development of the child. We will continue to strive to offer the best educational opportunities for all the children in our care.
Principal's Message
Our Lady of the Rosary School offers an excellent education in a co-educational Catholic environment. We are situated on the Sunshine Coast, in the picturesque beachside city of Caloundra.
OLR is a small school of 360 students in Prep to Year Six (14 classes) which ensures a tight-knit community where we know every student and their family.
OLR shares with you a welcoming family atmosphere, great community spirit and active parent body. Our school has a caring, progressive staff and offers a dynamic, evolving curriculum, based on academic excellence, gospel values and spiritual awareness.
Kind regards,
Dr Michael Stewart
