About our school
Murrupurtiyanuwu Catholic School is a Catholic primary school from preschool (aged 4 years) to Year 6. It is managed by a Tiwi leadership team.
Murrupurtiyanuwu Catholic School is situated at Wurrumiyanga, which is the main township of Bathurst Island, in the Arafura Sea off the Australian mainland
Wurrumiyanga (Nguiu) is located 80kms north of Darwin on the Tiwi Islands, Bathurst Island and Melville Island. The NT growth town of Wurrumiyanga is on Bathurst Island, which has a population of approximately 1800 people.
Principal's Message
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Murrupurtiyanuwu Catholic Primary School! We are a community that is dedicated to providing the highest quality education for all our students, while also fostering a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
As a Catholic school, we are committed to helping our students develop a strong faith foundation, and to instilling in them the values of compassion, integrity, and respect. Our dedicated and experienced staff are passionate about nurturing each student’s unique gifts and talents, and helping them reach their full potential academically, socially, and spiritually.
