Mount St Joseph Catholic College, Milperra (fondly called MSJ), is a school in the tradition of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart and, as such, has a strong culture of respect and social justice embedded in its everyday practice.
The valuing of academic, social, sporting and spiritual growth is embedded across the College. This has been aided by structures that encourage modelling of respectful interactions and peer mentoring by the older students which is therefore evident across all age groups on a daily basis. There is a strong House spirit which encourages belonging, celebration and a sense of safety for the students.
The wellbeing structures prioritise ongoing connections between House Leaders, students and parents, ensuring that families are well known and supported throughout the duration of their daughters’ schooling. Partnerships are strong.
The College has a strong history of success in traditional academic areas as well as the creative and performing arts and competitive sports. The students have many opportunities to participate in special interest groups designed to promote their confidence, curiosity and creative and problem solving skills which further contribute to a well rounded education preparing them for a successful life in an ever changing world.
