About our school
Holy Rosary School is an inner-city parish primary school, just 4 kms from Melbourne’s CBD. It was established in 1915, under the care of the Sisters of Mercy. Ongoing extension and refurbishment ensures our facilities meet current educational needs.
Holy Rosary is focused on building a community that reflects our Mercy heritage. The Mercy qualities of welcome, hospitality, inclusion and service, especially to those in need, are the hallmarks of our community. The words of our school song suggest our mission, ‘We believe in strength, love and kindness. We will be light to those around us’.
We are a proud and passionate Catholic school that encourages our students to use their gifts and talents to become Christ’s hands and heart for those they meet.
We believe that powerful learning is purposeful and engaging. It seeks to challenge, encourages reflection, and focuses on student passions, interests and needs.
We promote strong family engagement and recognise parents as a child’s primary educator and value the role they play as coeducators.

Principal's Message
Welcome to Holy Rosary School!
Our school has the wonderful warm vibe of a village community.
We are an inclusive school where students are celebrated for the gifts they bring, and their strengths are applauded. Our students are warm, friendly and welcoming. They make the most of their learning opportunities and demonstrate an ever increasing range of interests and passions. Staff are driven in their efforts to provide rich learning in a multitude of ways, and to differentiate the curriculum; ensuring quality education for all.
Families are keen to support their children’s learning, appreciate the rich diversity the Holy Rosary curriculum offers, and are generous in sharing their gifts, talents and resources. They too, enjoy the benefit of a strong camaraderie, and their support for our school, and for each other, contributes to the positive reputation that Holy Rosary has in our community.
Our Parish Priest, Father Hien is a wonderful pastoral leader, appreciated for his warmth and caring, thoughtfulness, wisdom, sense of justice, spiritual and pastoral care, and direction.
I am humbled by the opportunity to walk together with families, staff and parish to provide a safe, secure, happy and productive learning environment for all students at our school.
We encourage you to take a look around our website to learn more about Holy Rosary School, and invite you and your family to book a school tour to learn more.
I look forward to welcoming you to Holy Rosary!
