About our school
At Glowrey Catholic Primary School we believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
It is our desire as educators to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
Glowrey has adopted the concept of growth mindset as the basis for our learning philosophy. According to Carol Dweck, author of Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, individuals who possess a growth mindset understand that persistence and hard work are required to improve one’s learning. Those with a growth mindset believe that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching and persistence.
Learning about growth mindset is important for all individuals, not just for students. In order to embrace learning, a community must place high expectations on learning for all members of the community.
Principal's Message
As the Foundation Principal of Glowrey Catholic Primary School, it has been a great privilege to lead and serve this wonderful community. With over 35 years of experience in Catholic education, I remain deeply passionate about fostering a school environment where faith, learning and community come together in harmony.
Throughout my many years as Principal across several large Catholic primary schools in Melbourne, I have learned that the heart of any great school lies in its people – the students, staff, and families who bring its values to life each day. At Glowrey, we are blessed with a vibrant and inclusive community grounded in our core values of Service, Love and Justice.
My vision for Glowrey is that it continues to be a place where every child feels known, valued and supported — a place where faith and learning walk hand in hand. Together, we strive to inspire our students to live out the Gospel values, to pursue excellence in all they do, and to grow into compassionate and responsible young people who will make a positive difference in our world.
It is a joy to witness our students flourish each day – confident, kind, and faith-filled learners who embody the spirit of Glowrey.
