About our school
Annunciation is situated in Nolan Ave. – a quiet location off Millers Road between the Westgate freeway and Geelong road.
Annunciation School was established in the mid-1960s to provide a second school in the Kingsville Parish. The early school catered for up to 200 students, many of the children attending from the migrant hostel on Millers Rd. The hostel was closed in the early 1970s. The Josephite Nuns administered the school up until 1980. The school now has a diverse population with over fifteen nationalities represented among our families.
We have dedicated, caring staff who work hard to provide a quality curriculum.
Our Vision: “Annunciation – a faith community striving for excellence and personal growth while providing an education that focuses on the future and meets the needs of today”
At Annunciation we model this vision by:
- Respecting the dignity of all and embracing differences
- Encouraging all our students to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically and academically
- Providing an environment that encourages risk taking and self-belief
- Offering a curriculum that meets the needs of today’s world whilst equipping students to be lifelong learners
- Modelling positive behaviours on the teachings of the Gospel
- We have dedicated, caring staff who work hard to provide a quality curriculum.
We continue to be a small school with a huge spirit!
Principal's Message
At Annunciation, we are a faith-filled learning community where strong relationships, high expectations and care for one another are at the heart of everyday life. As Principal, I see children who are known, valued and supported to flourish academically, spiritually and socially. Our staff are deeply committed to nurturing a love of learning grounded in Gospel values, while fostering curiosity, creativity and confidence in every child. Working in close partnership with families, we recognise and support each student’s unique gifts, helping them to grow into resilient, capable and compassionate learners.
Our commitment to quality education is guided by a clear and shared Vision, brought to life through purposeful practices and programs. Teaching and learning are informed by data to ensure individual needs are identified and addressed. Structured Literacy and Numeracy blocks, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, provide strong foundations for learning, while technology is used meaningfully to enhance engagement and understanding. Targeted intervention programs support students who need additional assistance, and resilience programs promote self-worth and wellbeing. Specialist programs and bright, engaging learning spaces further enrich student experiences. Opportunities for student voice and leadership empower learners to contribute confidently, strengthening their sense of belonging and responsibility within the school community.
