Whitefriars College, Donvale VIC – Reimagining Education
Our curriculum represents the hopes that we hold for our students and our global community. As we emerge from the global pandemic, we are focusing on fostering global citizenship and providing rich opportunities for intercultural learning. Learners are challenged across all subject areas to see themselves as part of a broader global
community — one which values diversity, pursues equity and celebrates our similarities more than our differences.
The pandemic has shown that learning can take place at any place and at any time. Our Learning Management System, Whitefriars Learn, supports partnerships between teachers, students and parents. We provide a range of pathways for students in the Senior Years, and students can customise their VCE program to reflect their skills, interests and pathways options – choosing from 41 VCE studies offered at the College, as well as pursuing VET qualifications with a range of external partners. Strong relationships with the tertiary sector and employers ensure that our students are well-positioned to pursue future work and learning opportunities.
Student voice and agency are emphasised within and outside of the classroom. Students are important stakeholders in their education, and student needs and interests shape both teacher practice and planning.
