Stuartholme School, Toowong QLD – Building Resilience
At the heart of Stuartholme are our students, who are challenged in a supportive and affirming environment to reach their potential in all areas of development – spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Well established in our community is how we optimise success for our students through a three-way partnership whereby staff and the parents and students unite to build resilience and deliver outstanding results. Stuartholme builds the resilience and academic capabilities of our students through our school action plan – Growing to Great, which centres on three key strategic pillars to build staff, student and parent capacity. Industry and international experts in education and wellbeing provide workshops to parents which allows them to support the work the school does in the home environment. Teacher capacity is enhanced through professional learning opportunities which supports student growth. Finally, students are activated to be owners and drivers of their own leaning and wellbeing. The school’s wellbeing program, which has been shortlisted for a National Educators Award, is timetabled as part of the curriculum and supported by immersion initiatives including camps, retreats, leadership development workshops and staff and parent development and engagement. Integrating learning, spirituality and wellbeing in innovative ways builds self-knowledge and resilience for every student.
