St Scholastica’s College, Glebe NSW – Building Resilience

It is difficult to conceive of two years in which there was more dramatic change than in 2020 and 2021. A pandemic, long lockdowns, isolation, no in-class teaching, working and learning from home the new norm; even a second year of change was abrupt and confronting. Nevertheless, after two difficult years, many Schols girls emerged from their schooling in a pandemic with an appreciation that change presents opportunities to grasp leadership and to build personal resilience. Demonstrably, St Scholastica’s College, its staff and students met every challenge with resilience, adaptation, determination and innovation. Our girls did not resent change; it was an opportunity. They dispensed with the threat to their schooldays, adapted, grasped the technology and
refused to let the strictures of a pandemic threaten another year of learning. A Schols education is holistic producing young women who are well equipped for an ever-changing world.
