St Laurence’s College, South Brisbane, QLD – Reimagining Education

St Laurence’s College has reimagined education to put student learning first. The College’s educational processes are student-centric and allow for students to take control of their own learning journey.

Lauries encourages students to choose electives much earlier in their learning career. After getting a taste of all aspects of College life in the Primary School, students then can delve deeper into their passions for longer, selecting electives as early as Year 8. This gives students more clarity in the educational journey and better prepares them for tertiary education and their after-school life.

A similar concept has also been applied to our Year 10 students who can prepare for Senior education earlier. The ability to take Year 11 subjects in Year 10 eases their transition into ATAR subjects and assessments.

Another feature of St Laurence’s College and its educational reimagining can be found in the Primary Precinct. Located in the middle of the College, our young Year 5 and 6 students are immersed in the fabric of Lauries. The interactions with all members of the College provides them with a great experience in which they become more comfortable in their surroundings and their home away from home.
