St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace, Brisbane, QLD – Building Resilience

Building positive connections, nurturing confidence, and achieving goals are at the heart of resilience. Another uncertain year in 2021 didn’t hinder the Gentlemen of Terrace, whether it was battling with voices on stage during House Choir or making history with the first GPS Football Premiership, the Terrace Family finished 2021 with a sense of connectedness to their teachers and peers. Terrace commits to the education of young men and places great emphasis on the importance of teaching. Terrace Educators are integral to our culture of learning. This is further aided by our newly refurbished flexible learning classrooms, where students can readily collaborate with peers and adapt learning to meet their academic goals. Building resilience is also enhanced beyond the classroom through our co-curricular and pastoral care programs. The College facilitates a comprehensive co-curricular program with a wide range of sporting and cultural activities that encourage discipline, skill excellence and teamwork. Each year, the Gentlemen of Terrace are given the opportunity to embark on Gospel centred retreats at the College’s Outdoor Education Centre. These retreats aim to provide a reflective experience, where each student is supported with seeing the realities of our word in new ways. The entire Terrace Family works together to empower every gentleman in an atmosphere of care, support, challenge and growth.
