St James College, Spring Hill QLD – Reimagining Education
Nurturing the future leaders of our society is very important work. As a College community, we are focused on strategic planning, the future, problem solving and the pathways we create for our students.
The skills we are teaching now must be applicable to jobs of the future, some of which have not been created yet. At St James College, we deliberately teach transferable skills, which means students can take skills learned and successfully apply them into the future in various contexts as they journey through their career and life.
The Edmund Rice philosophy of education states that education is liberation. The Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres said, “The future of the world is based on education and bridging the inequality gaps.” Education is how we are going to solve the world’s problems.
As a College, we strive to live out our responsibility to ensure learning for young people that takes them to new dimensions to be able to problem solve and contribute to the challenges of humanity including climate change, energy and sustainability.
St James College is a school that cultivates leadership in all students so they can see themselves in their future as the problem solvers and the leaders of tomorrow.
