Salesian College, Chadstone VIC – Champions of Change
At Salesian College Chadstone, adapting to the challenges of COVID-19 is how our community champions change. In supporting our students’ learning experience in this uncertain time, the value of a collective approach was clear. The common purpose of ensuring our students continued to experience quality learning, teaching and pastoral care was at the forefront of our minds when developing our ‘Continuity of Learning Plan’. With the support of parents, our staff worked diligently to provide quality learning and pastoral care through online platforms.
Entrusted with the responsibility of taking ownership of their studies remotely, our students were able to take on this unique challenge in the knowledge that they could rely on our community. 2020 Academic Ambassador Scott Fisher reflects, “COVID-19 taught me about my needs as a student. Now, more than ever, I understand how I truly learn. This is a skill which for many people surfaces much later in life, and something that the graduates of 2020 should cherish.”
2021 College Captain Steven Tran acknowledges, “To me, my teachers are mentors and individuals I aspire to model my leadership upon. It’s these relationships that have played an influential role in moulding the core of my Salesian experience and contributing to the love that I have for this great school.”
