Sacred Heart Girls’ College VIC – Reimagining Education

At Sacred Heart Girls’ College, we know that a strong sense of wellbeing is an essential foundation for learning, personal development and
success in life. We recognise the importance of each member of our community feeling connected and known, engaged and empowered.

Wellbeing for Learning is a structured, explicitly taught Social Emotional Learning Program based upon students’ developmental needs. It is part of a suite of curriculum and pastoral provisions designed to build student capacity and confidence for improved personal and learning outcomes.

Dedicated teachers support our students and provide context for learning, connecting what happens in the classroom to real-world
applications. Modern, flexible and stimulating learning spaces are technology-rich and designed to maximise student engagement.

2023 sees the introduction of VCE VM and Year 9 Strive, an integrated learning program. This major change to our Year 9 curriculum comes after extensive review and research of best pedagogical practices. Designed to deliver the skills, knowledge and dispositions needed for a continually evolving future, it aims to empower students to be active participants in their own learning. Emphasis is given to communication, enterprise, critical and creative thinking, leadership, team building, resilience, persistence, reflective and independent learning, and citizenship and service.
