Sacred Heart Girls’ College Oakleigh – Building Resilience
At Sacred Heart Girls’ College we know that a strong sense of wellbeing provides a firm base for learning, personal development, and success in life. We recognise how important it is for each member of our community to feel connected and known, engaged and empowered. In partnership with families, SHGC has a range of practices and programs to support the health and wellbeing of each student.
The Wellbeing for Learning Program is a structured, explicitly taught Social Emotional Learning Program based upon students’ developmental needs. It is part of a suite of curriculum and pastoral provisions designed to build student capacity and confidence for improved personal and learning outcomes.
There may be times when students would benefit from the care offered by one of our College Counsellors who work with staff and parents/carers in the support of adolescent mental health and wellbeing. Our counsellors are experienced in assisting students with emotional, social, and school-based issues.
