Patrician Brothers’ College, Blacktown NSW – Building Resilience
Patrician Brothers’ College Blacktown strives to build resilience in each student. This is achieved through our academic care program. The academic care program is holistic. It incorporates pastoral care and the promotion of academic excellence. Pastoral care is supported through the Student Wellbeing Program that is integrated into each student’s timetable, complemented by a range of guest speakers, activities, and community events. The program is designed to support each student and build their resilience and confidence.
The College also builds resilience by promoting academic excellence. This is achieved by challenging each student to strive for their personal best in the classroom. Wherever their starting point, students are constantly supported and encouraged by their teachers to develop their motivation, skills, and capacity to become lifelong learners. Resilience is also supported through a strong sporting program. The program caters for a number of sports such as rugby league, rugby union, cricket, soccer, basketball, swimming and athletics, including opportunities for elite representation at state and national levels. Through a strong academic care program and a vibrant sporting environment, students at Patrician Brothers’ College Blacktown are encouraged to build resilience, which will prepare them for life beyond the school gates.
