Parade College, VIC – Building Resilience

During its long history, Parade has aimed to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all of its students. The House Tutor has a very important role in this process and they operate as a key focal person for both their students and families on a 3-year basis to ensure student wellbeing. Time is allocated each morning and during a full period each Friday, so that elective working relationships are established, and each student is well known and supported. Student progress is celebrated and a sense of belonging to both the wider Parade Community and one of the four Houses is promoted. It is through this meaningful connection to the College and the interesting programs on o!er, that allows for choice and the enhancement of resilient and confident young students as they tackle challenges through structured problem-solving. As well as gaining a sound education in a very supportive community, it is hoped that a graduate of Parade also has a keen sense of social justice as they mature into responsible, resilient and thoughtful young leaders.
