Our Lady’s College, Annerley QLD – Building Resilience

During increasingly challenging global times, we prepare our girls to be compassionate, strong, confident, and decisive leaders. As a school community, even during challenging and unprecedented times, we find ways to link our community and celebrate what’s important to us. Our one-to-one senior academic mentoring program enables students to focus on goal setting, reflect on their performance, be guided through different study techniques and tools, and discuss strategies to improve their results with a member of the College Leadership Team or pastoral specialists. This helps to build resilience through enhanced self-awareness, increased self-confidence and more control over their future pathways and pursuing job opportunities post school. In 2020,
Our Lady’s College student and dux Blessy Matthews was one of the top 60 students in Queensland, receiving an ATAR score of 99.9. She attributes her success to the Our Lady’s teaching environment, pastoral
care support and guidance received in her senior year. Our pastoral care program underpins all year levels
and focuses on highly relevant life skills – transition & change, grit & determination, fostering a growth
mindset, respectful & healthy relationships, optimism, maintaining balance, meaning and purpose, and domains of health and wellbeing.
