Our Lady of Mercy College is a school community that promotes a caring and peaceful environment where each student is able to grow and reach potential. We seek to build a safe and compassionate Christian environment in which everyone has the right to feel safe and valued and where individual differences are accepted as everyone’s right. Everyone shares in the responsibility of caring for others within and beyond the College community. This safe environment enables our students to explore their interests and find their passions and strengths. Our approach to Pastoral Care is grounded in Restorative Practice which ensures that each girl has the opportunity to understand the choices they make and the impact they have on others. We use the Visible Learning approach to teaching and learning, encouraging student voice and agency. We build strong connections between staff and students, as well as between the families and the College. We see this environment as providing a strong foundation for our girls to grow into empowered women ready to address personal, local and global challenges and flourish in a complex world.
