Mary MacKillop College, Nundah QLD – Building Resilience
Wellbeing for Learning Framework: The MacKillop Way, Positive approaches to behaviour, our Learning Virtues and College Values, underpin our commitment to positive mental health to strengthen students’ learning potential.
Buoyancy and Spirit: Quality attributes are our focus in learning and our tailored personal development programs. Students are taught how to embrace their academic, cultural, and sporting pursuits with courage. They learn to recognise adversities and respond with resolve to adjust their thinking, behaviour or emotions to effectively address episodes of concern, dips in motivation or negative interactions that may manifest in their lives from time to time and be equipped to respond successfully.
Cultivating Wisdom: MacKillop Women are successful in their endeavours because they practise self-efficacy and persistence, participate in unfamiliar activities and learn from feedback to develop their character.
Celebrating Success: We honour students’ remarkable leadership accomplishments, significant academic achievements, commitment to enterprises that are fair and equitable, and determination to act justly for the benefit of others and our world.
Interconnectedness: Through purposeful engagements with parents, university partners, innovative business
partners and our local communities, our strategic approach to learning and teaching harnesses evidence based research to consolidate positive interpersonal relationships for MacKillop Women to flourish.
