Iona College – It’s All About The Balance

Iona College challenges every student under our care to ignite the FIRES within.

“I have no use for smouldering wicks in this society. I want you to burn, give light, or get out.”

This was the challenge Iona’s Patron Saint, Eugene de Mazenod – the Founder of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, issued to his fellow Oblates to energise and inject zeal into their service of the community. It is a challenge that inspires daily life at Iona for every student, guided by Iona’s values of Faith, Integrity, Respect, Excellence and Service (FIRES) to reach their full potential. By learning how to serve their community, Iona students learn how to become better men.

Iona College understands that the dreams and talents of each student are unique. Student learning is fostered in an environment that is challenging, engaging and supportive.

Our curriculum provides a wide range of subject opportunities to cultivate the individual talents of each student, including marine science, engineering and aerospace programs.

Our co-curricular program caters to the passion of every student including music, sport, drama and the arts, supported by world-class facilities.

Since 1957, Iona has been committed to our local community. To ensure an Iona education remains within reach of the families we serve, our all-inclusive fees remain among the lowest for Catholic and independent all-boys schools in Brisbane,

In 2026, construction will begin on a new building in our Primary Precinct, which will deliver even more general learning areas and breakout spaces for our youngest student
