De La Salle College, Malvern VIC – Building Resilience

Each student at De La Salle College is known and supported through a specialised Wellbeing Team which ensures student engagement. Additionally, the College’s sophisticated online learning management system and digital tools, have allowed learning to continue with little need for radical modification or reinvention during times of remote learning.

De La Salle College students are encouraged to build resilience through independent learning and specialised programs such as GROW (Growing Responsibility for your Own Wellbeing). GROW teachers facilitate students’ learning about mental health, respect and consent, sexual health and self-management.

The Year 9 Holy Eucharist Campus promotes a learning environment where students are further engaged, empowered and self-motivated. All classrooms have a collaborative focus providing a strong personal, social and academic foundation for the senior years of schooling. At the conclusion of Year 9, students have grown in confidence academically, are more self-aware and lead their own learning.

Resilience building can be found in all areas of our learning and teaching. The co-curricular programs aim to provide students with a solid foundation for their future career pathways, post De La Salle College.
