Clairvaux MacKillop College QLD – Change Makers
Clairvaux Mackillop College is fostering future change makers. For example, the Pastoral Centre is a hub with six dedicated Pastoral Leaders that collaborate with students, families and staff to make positive changes for student growth in academic, wellbeing and spiritual development. Likewise, the College’s new and innovative Academic Excellence Program for Years 7-12 students provides a unique and enriched learning environment which has been designed around the acquisition of 21st century skills.
The program serves as a bridge between educational institutions, the broader community, global corporations and organisations. An innovative component of the program is that it is available in two strands – one focusing upon Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, Aerospace and Health and the other strand specialising in English, The Arts, History, Geography, Business and Law. Through the College’s partnerships with universities, students in Year 11 and 12 can begin their university studies whilst still at Secondary school, with credit towards the Queensland Certificate of Education.
Michael Boyle, Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning says, “The Program develops visionary young people who embrace their changing world with confidence and hope In doing so, they are challenged in their academic endeavours within a progressive learning environment.”
