Catherine McAuley Westmead, Westmead NSW – Champions of Change

At Catherine McAuley, our approach to learning prioritises the skills required for young women to actively participate in a constantly changing world as autonomous lifelong learners who are connected, adaptable, discerning and articulate.

We know that 21st century skills enable young women to collaborate, communicate and think critically and we apply the development of these skills to our learning. There is a strong emphasis at Catherine McAuley on female leadership, technology and STEM activities.

Catherine McAuley students are nurtured to be leaders, and the school environment and culture provides opportunities for them to develop their confidence and skills through a range of activities including debating, public speaking, performing arts evenings, sporting competitions, liturgies, hospitality, social justice activities and the Girls Student Alliance network, who meet regularly with students from other all girls schools.

The school has an active Student Representative Council and senior students have the opportunity to take on leadership positions in a variety of areas.
