Catherine McAuley Westmead, Westmead NSW – Building Resilience
At Catherine McAuley Westmead, the school strives to educate young women for the future with a strong emphasis on female leadership and developing confident students who recognise the challenges in
their learning. The school helps students build resilience, wisdom and self-efficacy by encouraging students to take risks in their learning and to solve complex problems in their learning. Students are encouraged to embrace challenges and see them as an opportunity for growth. The school provides many opportunities for students to take on leadership roles and offers activities to help develop their confidence. Debating, public speaking, performing arts evenings, sporting competitions, liturgies, hospitality, environmental initiatives and social justice activities are just some examples. The school has an active Student Representative Council and senior students have the opportunity to take on leadership positions in a variety of areas.
