Ambrose Treacy College – Building Resilience

Ambrose Treacy College has a multidimensional whole school strategic approach to building student resilience. We provide a safe and supportive learning environment, promote positive teacher student and peer relationships, provide support for those with additional needs and involve students and families in decision making. Ambrose Treacy College builds a sense of student connectedness and belonging through our Pastoral Care System, Service Program and Co-Curricular Programs that have a demonstrated capacity to improve academic and wellbeing outcomes. We provide quality evidence based social and emotional skills programs through our Formation Curriculum, Retreat Program and Men of Courage Framework that explicitly teach a range of resilience skills including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, social management, emotional literacy, digital literacy, stress management, peer support and critical and creative problem solving. Finally, at Ambrose Treacy College we are committed to building partnerships with parents and carers in support of their son’s capacity to be resilient. We provide a range of services, resources and parent nights that aim to support families navigate through issues such as popular culture, friendships, gaming, sleep, diet, body image, social media, digital reputation, anxiety, depression, cyber safety, drugs, alcohol, mental health and wellbeing.
